Where do the workshops take place?

Most workshops take place at my home studio in Aylesbury. Details about the studio can be found Here.

Some group workshops are held at external venues due to capacity limitations. Details of alternative venues will be listed on the workshop description when booking.

Alternatively, 1-2-1 and private group workshops can be held in your home. These are subject to a mileage charge for locations outside of HP18. Please get in touch if you have any questions regarding this.

How do I arrange a workshop at my home?

If you would like to book a workshop to take place at your home, please email me at thimblepeoplesewing@gmail.com.

How are mileage charges calculated?

Mileage is charged at 45p per mile for locations outside of HP18. Mileage charges are calculated as a round trip.

For example, if a workshop location is 5 miles outside of HP18 the charge would be calculated as follows:

2 x 5 miles = 10 miles

10 x 0.45 = £4.50 mileage charge

I need to cancel my class booking. What do I do?

Please contact me to cancel or rearrange your class. For our refund policy please see our T&Cs page.

I’m not sure if my sewing machine is working properly. Can I still use it in class?

We recommend you have your sewing machine serviced before the date of your booking. This ensures you have a fully working machine ready for the class. Thimble People can not be held responsible for cancelled or disrupted classes due to your machine not working correctly. Refunds will not be given for classes cancelled for this reason. Please see our T&Cs page for our full policy on providing your own equipment.

If your machine is not working, Thimble People can provide a machine for you to use. It’s best to let us know in advance if you need to borrow a machine so that we can have it set up for you upon arrival.

What do I need to bring to the workshop?

Unless otherwise stated, Thimble People will provide all tools and materials needed for your class, as well as hot drinks on request. This means you only have to bring yourself, as well as any cold drinks or snacks you wish to keep you going!
